I want to obtain fuel level readings from FMB 920 tracking device. Is there any way that I can obtain such readings or do I need to purchase an OBDII dongle?

Hello there,

Good day. Thank you for your question.

With FMB920, you may use the Analog input to connect with the fuel sensor. For more information, please refer here - https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/Analog_Fuel_Sensor

Additionally, you may use the GNSS Fuel Counter for fuel consumption that is available in the Configurator - https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/FMB920_Features_settings#GNSS_Fuel_Counter

OBDII dongle is usable but it depends if the vehicle broadcast the fuel data.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.

Thanks, your answer is very helpful. Also, is there any way to know if a vehicle broadcasts the fuel data readings?

Hello there,

Good day.

The supported vehicle list does indicate if the vehicle broadcasts fuel data but this depends on the vehicle itself. If your vehicle is in the supported vehicle list (depending on the CAN adapter used) and if you are planning to use an advanced device (FMX1 series + CAN adapter) instead then you may refer here:

ALL-CAN300 - https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/ALL-CAN300#Supported_vehicles_list

LV-CAN200 - https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/LV-CAN200#Supported_vehicles_list

CAN-CONTROL - https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/CAN-CONTROL#Supported_vehicles_list

However, if the vehicle is not in the list above, then a physical check has to be performed.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.
