Hello,

there are some FMB900 devices that are configured to send data every 3 minutes but speed data they send is zero and coordinates are exactly the same in every record send, although they are in motion.

They are all upgraded to the latest firmware version 3.25.15 Rev.01.

All LED are flashing so GPS fix is ok.

They all use the same configuration file and they were fully functional till last month when the problem appears.

Sample of 2 consecutive records follows:

Payload :    "position":    "fixTime":"2020-08-10T20:10:25.000+03:00"    "deviceTime":"2020-08-10T20:10:25.000+03:00"    "outdated":false    "valid":true    "latitude":38.37542    "longitude":20.7462633    "altitude":-16.0    "speed":0.0    "course":228.0    "protocol":"teltonika"    "deviceId":12    ...

Payload :    "position":    "fixTime":"2020-08-10T20:13:25.000+03:00"    "deviceTime":"2020-08-10T20:13:25.000+03:00"    "outdated":false    "valid":true    "latitude":38.37542    "longitude":20.7462633    "altitude":-16.0    "speed":0.0    "course":228.0    "protocol":"teltonika"    "deviceId":12    ...

Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi ,

The PDP Context is successfully activated and the GPRS connection appears as online.

Below are the answers we got from getinfo, getver, getstatus.

Hello,

Please verify your static navigation settings, when static navigation is working, then coordinates are frozen.

You could paste pagescreen from configurator for verification.

Hello and thanks for the answer,

pls find below static navigation settings. Static navigation is disabled.

The devices are in motion while GPS data are the same. Temporary the tracker provides correct data but after a while the problem reappears for the majority of records sent.

We also notice that there is no eventual records of "type":"deviceMoving" although the device is moving.

Hello,

Thank you for sending System configuration,

The issue may be casued by inproper record interpreting by a server. Both records have fix time the same as device time and device is configured to send record without time synchronization and position fix. I would advice to change record saving/sending Without TS parameter to: After Position Fix (than records will be send only if there is time sync and gps fix) or After Time Sync (must have time but can have zero coordinates), if issue occur again you can check current position using getgps or ggps SMS command:

https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/FMB900_SMS/GPRS_Commands

To have eventual records caused by movement you should set Movement priority to High in I/O, also it is better to set Movement Start Delay parameter to 3 seconds, to avoid records generated by accidental movement of the vehicle (like strong wind blows etc)

Setting ignition for power voltage is OK, but if Low Voltage param is set to 11V I think you have ignition ON all the time, even if engine is not working. You can check the external voltage (avl id 66) when engine is not working and when it is working and set proper value for Low Voltage.

Hi,

We changed parameter "Record saving/sending Without TS parameter" to "After Position Fix", we monitor the devices for a few days and they seem to work properly except one of them that worked fine for a couple of days but stopped sending records for the last 3 days.

Its SIM appears ONLINE and it replies to SMS so it's powered on.

The same behavior has another device that has the previous configuration (Record saving/sending Without TS parameter: Always) and doesn't connect to FOTA web to get the updated config file.

Both have the latest firmware.

Hello,

If your device is not sending data to a server, then it may have no GPRS connection or it may be a communication protocol issue. Other possible reason is that device is not generating records, so it has nothing to send. Please check in your SIM operator if you have valid data packet. GPRS status could be checked with getstatus command: https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/FMB900_SMS/GPRS_Commands. To check number of records saved in device memory send getinfo command, device should reply with data including REC - number of records in the memory: https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/FMB_getinfo

You could paste device answers to getstatus, getver and getinfo commands if you need help with interpreting them.

Hello,

Thank you for sent responses. GPS:3 means GPS is on with fix, so it is OK:

https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/FMB_getinfo

REC:0 - no records found in the device memory, means all records were sent to server

MD:4 - Data mode: Unknown and Stop:

getstatus (https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/FMB_getstatus):

Data Link:0 - data link is closed:

GPRS: 1 - device has GPRS connection avaible

Hi,

as suggested by our mobile service provider, there might be a possibility where the device cannot send AT command sequence to de-register from a network (e.g. in case of power failure). In this situation, the connection remains "Online" as an indication of the last network operator to which the endpoint was last connected to, but actually is not. To resolve this problem, a device restart is required.

So we sent SMS command "cpureset" and then the device started transmitting properly.
