Does the All-Can (or LV-Can) request the "Vehicle Identification Number" from the Can-Bus when connected? If not, how does it confirm the Program Number matches the one in the document about cars supported?

I want to use this information for a J1939 simulator I am using. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I think LV CAN or ALL CAN is not requesting VIN.

In the CAN Adapter, We are entering the program number manually, there is no automatic process for vehicle identification.

If you entered a different program number, it will not work as per the functionality.

If you want to use a J1939 simulator tool for All CAN, Please do the below steps.

Find out a program number of a vehicle which uses J1939.

Identify the CAN parameters which include in this program number.

Find out the PGN & SPN details of this CAN parameters with the help of SAE-J1939-71  standard document.

And configure your simulator according to this details.

Enter the same program number in All CAN and Connect to simulator.

Thanks in advance
