We have some FMB120 devices, and we use only for GPS localization (no IO, no bluethooth, etc.).

We want to reduce the data comsumption over TCP connection (no UDP) vidth M2M sim dy Telit.

There is a way to minimize or compress the data send from the device?

Best regards.

Hi Enrico,

Thank you for an interesting question. If you're not sending any IO parameters, and are not interested in testing UDP protocol for your application, there are still a couple of ways to save some data:

1. Most of the data saving can be done by adjusting the settings in Data Acquisition section. By analyzing your trips you can optimize the parameters to stop the creation of excessive records. For example, if your navigating in a city(short/medium distances, frequent direction changes, etc.) you might want to disable records by distance driven, they will add additional records that don't provide useful information, as most of your useful records can by records registered on angle change. Also, you might want to increase the angle setting to only produce records on sharp turns.

These settings vary greatly by application, so make sure to study your case to receive the best results.

2. If you're using a Duplicate Server option, you could disable this on the device and implement data to be duplicated and sent from the server instead.

Best regards,
