Hello !
Since the beginning with my own Teltonika server, I have used Codec 12 to send commands to my FMB120 (and TMT250 for tests).
I was reading the Teltonika's documentation, but I don't understand very well the differences between Codec 12, 13, 14.

Is there one better ?
Do they have different uses ?

Thanks for your explanation.
Sincerely,

Codec 14 includes the IMEI in both outgoing and incoming message I suspect you may want that when you receive a response to ensure the data is logged against the correct unit on your system

Hi there,

Codec 12 are main codec used for sending gprs commands. Codec 13 main difference that the messages are one way only .Codec 16 has event generation type added.

full codec description can be found here https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/Codec

Hello,

thanks for your answer.

I think I was wrong when I have mentionned Codec 12 and Codec 13.

So to recieve data, there are Codec 8,8E, 13 and 16.
But to send commands to the device, there are Codec 12 and 14.

So why should you use Codec 14 to send commands instead of Codec 12 ?
Because, for exemple, the documentation says : "Codec14 GPRS commands can be used for sending configuration, debug, digital outputs control commands or other (special purpose command on special firmware versions)".
But, Codec 12 does the same thing I think. No ?

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely.
