Hello!

I have a client which needs trailer detection from truck side canbus, trailercan comes to the truck, but is there in trucks J1939 some messages that I could use to detect connected trailer?

Hello

If the trailer info  is available on CAN J1939 and you have the appropriate documentation, you can use the Manual CAN IO function for devices FMX640/641.

Yes manual can io does the job, what I was asking is that EBS unit in truck might send some of the trailer 24Vcan data through in to the truck 5V can network.

Wabco and Knorr brakesystems varies with different truck brands in their programming what they send through in different cases.

Just curious if some one has checked allready what common messages goes through.

Example VIN foof the connected trailer, or mileage for maintenance purposes.

But if no one has the info, I'll have to scan the can networks for different combinations of truck and trailer brands and work it out :D
