25851: FMB965 battery dies at 45%

I have a new FMB965 unit that seems to power off completely at around 45%

App shows that the device has 45% left, 3527mV but after a few minutes the device powers off and doesn't come back on until power is supplied.

How can the battery level be so inaccurate? Do I have a faulty battery?
