Hello

a) do you know what event 2474 - Full Crash Trace Not Calibrated means?

b) how to calibrate the module in this case i am using fmb module 640

 c) what is the best crash detection setting for dump truck units with rocky roads?

 d) can only 10s of data be suppressed or can it be more than 10s?

I'm currently using the following settings:

Hello,
thank you for reaching out.

a) event ID:247 is crash trace. Value of the event, in this case 4, indicates Full Crash Trace not calibrated.
Full Crash Trace means that full crash trace option is selected, therefore FMB will collect  accelerometer data and all values will be added in the buffer.
Calibration is used for determining the orientation of your FMB640. Since FMB640 can be mounted in different ways, the device needs to account for the non-ideal orientation so that the accelerometer axes would be calibrated for measuring:
X - axis longitudinal velocity, Y - axis side velocity and Z - axis - normal velocity.

Not Calibrated - would mean that the device has failed to account for the non-ideal mounting of your device, so, for example, in this case, acceleration in X-axis would not mean longitudinal acceleration, therefore the accelerometer data would be skewed.

b) Device can be calibrated using Auto-calibration. The auto-calibration process is the following:

  1. The vehicle is stopped.
  2. There is a straight road ahead.
  3. Send SMS "  auto_calibrate:set" to the FMB device. (leave 2 spaces before command if no login and password has been set)
  4. Accelerate to >30 km/h for 5 sec.
  5. FMB will send a response when calibration is completed successfully.

Calibration is saved to internal flash memory, which means it will stay after a reset. To check auto-calibration status send a following short text message to the FMB device: "  auto_calibrate:get".

c) It is difficult to give a specific number for Your case, because accelerometer readings will vary depending on the suspension of your dump truck and how rocky the road is. The best option would be to play around with the options and tweak it to your desires.

d) yes, only 10s of data can be captured.
