Hello,

I have FMC125 talking to our server well with UDP.  I have a connected device on the RS232 port.  I would like to send a packet from our server, containing some data that I would like to push out of the RS232 port so that it can request data from the attached device.  Does anyone know if that is possible?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

It is possible to forward the packet to external device through RS-232. Please read more on our wiki page:

Hi Lukas, thankyou for that.,

I can make this work with TCP, but using UDP it does not work.  Would you expect it work with UDP also?

I'm using Codec12. The documentation does not show any different format for UDP vs TCP codec 12 packets.

Codec8 that sends the AVL packets does have a different format specified for UDP communications.

I can see whether it works or not by connecting the RS232 to my laptop and watching the data coming in from the RS232 port.

All the best - Lorenzo
