Hello,

If we abstract ourselves from the vehicle specific wiring diagrams, what is the general rule for connecting Can-Control to the CAN-bus networks.

Lets say a vehicle has 4 CAN networks: Diagnosis, Convenience, Infotainment and Drivetrain. To which of those should we connect CAN1,2 and 3, and to what electric system of the vehicle the Alternative Control should be connected to?

Many thanks,

Hristo

Hello Hristo,

Good day. Thank you for your question.

Every vehicle is different and especially for CAN-CONTROL it is best follow scheme and use program number provided for specific vehicle, for control features to work. We cannot give you a general template for making connections.

There is auto-scan procedure for FMB140 and CAN-CONTROL which can help you find the most suitable program number if connecting to vehicle that is unsupported: https://wiki.teltonika-gps.com/view/CAN-ADAPTER#Entering_via_Autoscan_procedure.

We can provide help identifying needed CAN wires or provide recommendations when connecting to unsupported vehicles if you contact us directly.

So if you have specific issue I would suggest reaching out to us on VIP Helpdesk so we can analyze and assist you better.

If you don't have any contacts with our Sales managers, please contact them on our official website https://teltonika-gps.com/ and click on the "Contact Us" button. When you will click, please fill the form and submit it.

Note: as a topic, please choose "Vehicle telematics" or you can send an e-mail with a description of your situation to info@teltonika.lt

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards.
