Hello,

I need your genius help,

When I receive reccurent AVL packets, I observed that the first 2 or 3 packets contains several AVL (maybe due saved records) so my first packets have a very big size (Length = 1263) and the following AVL have a small and correct size (Length = 63).

I checked my Min Saved Record of my Data Acquisition Mode and Min Saved Records value = 1 (only one record saved) so why I receive a lot of AVLs in one paquet ?

I observed this problem only after GPRS activation and only with the first AVLs (2 or 3),

So If I stop my server and I start it again (without disabling GPRS) I receive correctly small AVL.

This is output print :

// First AVL (very big)

How can I limits every paquet with ONLY ONE AVL ?

Thank you very much :)

Hi,

Which Teltonika device are you using ? If your device supports multiple profiles, you can switch profiles by using GSM Signal IO parameter.

If the GSM signal is very low or not available you can switch to one profile where device can save less records.

Thanks in advance

Hi Naveem,

I use FMB001  and GSM signal is high (4/5).

I don't have profiles.

Thank you.

Hi,

The primary function of a tracker is saving and sending records.

Since your device doesn't have any profile switching options it's really hard to find a solution for your requirement.

Still we can try some methods, for that I need some clarifications, Please answer the below questions.

1 ) In which asset you are fixed this tracker ? Is it a moving vehicle or a stationary object ? Or you are just checking in the lab ?

2) What are the basis of your GPRS disabling ? Are you disabling the GPRS at vehicle stop ? Or a particular time  ?

3) what is the time interval for each record ?

Thanks

Hello,

1) Device is fixed on Vehicule.

2) I disable GPRS manually as needed for several reasons (when vehicule is placed garage, holiday, to reduce GRPS consumption, ...).

3) Interval for each record is 5 minutes (temporarily) but in the futur each customer can choose his own interval.

Thank you for your help.

Hello eTracker,

You mentioned that you observed problem with big data only after GPRS activation. It is possible that our FM unit have been tried to send records for a while but it was impossible because of GPRS deactivation. Then the unit will save records to memory and when GPRS is activated, then device will send all saved records. It there any possibilities to check the data sending time difference between the first large data and the data before it?

We are looking your answer.

Best wishes,

Hello,

Thank you for your help,

Exactly, device will send saved records. But how can I stop that ???

I want only one last record saved please.

Thank you.

Hello,

If GPRS is disabled for hours device saved 64 records (checked with "countrecs" command).

How can I reduce this max value to only one record please ?

Thank you.

Hi,

How the GPRS connection getting disabled ? Are you manually doing that for saving the data ? Or is it a GPRS signal issue ?

This device is installed in a moving vehicle ?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes I manually disabled GPRS,

When I enable it again (after few hours for example) I receive first AVL paquets with a many many records :

if I enable several I/O elements, I receive 64 +/- records and if I disable most I/O so AVL have a small size but I receive more records,

Today, before enabling GPRS I checked "countrecs" I find : "169 records" due to small AVL size (because I disabled I/O parameters).

This behavior is normal, it isn't a technical problem, but simply I want to reduce saved records number to ONLY ONE RECORD MAXIMUM.

For example, today when I enabled GPRS, my server received 169 saved records in 3 packets and each packet with 1260 +/- Bytes Length.

So I lost more than 3 MB for nothing, it's very useful for customers who want to reduce GPRS consumption.

Thank you.

Hi,

Connect vehicle ignition to DIN 1

And do below these settings in device.

Step 1 - In system setting, Set ignition as your movemenrt source.

Step 2 - In ignition source, Set DIN 1 as your ignition source.

Step 3 - In data acquisition setting, Min Period of On Stop setting, Set as zero. So it will not send any record in the vehicle stop condition. If you want one record you can keep some high value as Min Period.

Hope this will work for you.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your help Naveen,

Step 1 - "Mouvement Source" : I already use "Movement Sensor".

Step 2 - "Ignition Source" : I prefer "Digital Input".

If I use "DIN 1" device stop working if Vehicule on STOP.
I prefer keep tracker working even if vehicule is stopped, of course with less tracking (every 1 record in 5-10 minutes or more).
For example during my platform development phase, I need to communicate with device when my car is Parked.
What do you think about that Naveen ? good or bad idea ?

Step 3 - For data acquisition mode settings (Vehicule On Stop) I already use high value Min Period, I use these parameters :

"min period" = 300 (so every 5 minutes to save data).

"min saved record" = 1 (but unfortunately device save only min saved record but I can't choose max saved).

"I want some think like max saved record" = 1 (this parameter doesn't exist).

              "send period" = 120 seconds.

Any other idea ?

Thank you :)
